Did you know that dairy products should not be consumed by humans? Cow’s milk is made for baby cows, not humans. Humans are, after all, the only animals that consume dairy after they are weaned.

Research has shown that consumption of cow’s milk, and other dairy products, can lead to illness in humans. People who consume dairy products have a higher risk of different forms of cancer, in particular, breast and prostate cancer.   Along with an increased chance of getting cancer, allergies can be exacerbated by consuming dairy products. (“Health Concerns about Dairy Products.”) If you have seasonal allergies, consider ditching the dairy to help ease your symptoms. Many people suffer from lactose intolerance, which can cause a variety of symptoms, to include gastrointestinal problems. Consider this, these people don’t have lactose intolerance, the problem is, they aren’t baby cows! Cow’s milk is made for cows, not humans!

You might be wondering where you will get your calcium from if you don’t drink your three servings of milk every day. Consuming a diet of whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and legumes can provide your body with all the calcium necessary. Getting your calcium from foods such as these will help keep your body healthy and will help you avoid illness. (“Plant Based Diet Calcium.”)

Did you know that research has found that dairy is actually associated with an increased risk of fractures? (“Understanding the Problems with Dairy Products.”) Americans are told, “Milk, it does a body good”, when in reality, milk can cause more harm than good to your body. It is better to get your calcium through plant based foods and to do weight bearing exercises rather than consume dairy. Ditch the dairy for better health!

Don’t count on the USDA to give you the facts about dairy. Be smart, do your own research on the matter. Take your health into your own hands. Realize the government subsidizes dairy farmers. The government has money invested in Americans consuming dairy products, even though the research shows dairy products are harmful to our health. The government purchases dairy products for use in different government funded programs, such as the National School Lunch Program and the WIC Program, ensuring that everyone has access to dairy products. (“Health Concerns about Dairy Products.”) The more Americans consume dairy products; the more money the government makes. The US government is not looking out for your best interest!

Milk does not do your body good! Do your body some good and ditch the dairy! Try it for a few weeks and see how much better you feel! Just do it!!
