Nadejda Petrov was born November 10th, 1986, in a small town Hincesty, Moldova; an Eastern European Country that border Romania and Ukraine. She had a happy childhood and spent most of her time in a beautiful natural environment. She has embraced a special interest in art since her childhood. The passion of beauty proportion and balance has taken its roots from her family. She enjoys the company of her loving mother, an older brother, and especially her father the architect. Her handsome son, plus a wonderful husband who share many artistic aspirations inspire her.

On the whole, she is a “city girl,” who is used to noisy crowds, warm and polluted days, but also lively and joyful nights. Nonetheless, the last nine years, she has been occupied

with less urban, but equally inspiring activities. In 2008 she moved to Panama City a decision that changed the entire course of her life. She left behind three years of studying Undergraduate courses in Interior Design at the Technical University of Moldova.

Motivated by love for learning and succeeding she decided to continue her education at Gulf Coast State College. The hard working Nadejda gained a new passion for design and has also achieved the following rewards from her professors and others:
• Certificate of Excellence in General Psychology, Spring, 2015
• Outstanding Drafting & Design Student of The year 2013-2014
• Member of TRiO Student Support Services Program as a Math Tutor 2012-2013
• National Society of Leadership and Success Certificate of Recognition
• PHI THETA KAPPA Honor Society Certificate of Recognition PHI THETA KAPPA Honor Society
• WHO’S WHO AMONG STUDENTS IN AMERICAN UNIVERSITIES & COLLEGES As an Outstanding student representing Gulf Coast State College in 2015
• Congratulations letter from Florida House Representative Jimmy Patronis.

Those achievements have helped her land a job after she graduated Gulf Coast State College in Spring, 2015. She worked with a few architects in Santa Rosa Beach as well offered drafting services here in Panama City Beach. Now she is working as a Designer/Architectural Technician at Florida Architects, Inc. In case you did not know, this is the architectural firm that designed the Advanced Technology Center at Gulf Coast State College. She is a part of an excellent, collaborative, supportive team that offers opportunities for young professionals to fulfill their dreams. Through this profession, she can explore art and design in it’s varied forms. Now she enjoys her work, in a place of harmony with herself and those surrounding her. She will encourage everyone to keep a positive attitude and fight for what they believe despite the obstacles they encounter day by day.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Maryann

Student Author - Spring 2017

Maryann is a designer, front-end developer and family gal. I like to doodle over fonts and pour through code. Designing web interfaces has to be one of the most challenging and rewarding careers, next to teaching. Requiring constant upgrading of knowledge, meeting demanding deadlines and finding solutions to criticism. And that’s why I love it. In my spare time, I spend as much time with my family Geocaching and playing Pokemon Go. I have an incredibly family and patient husband, James and three wonderful children. Chances are, you’ll find me either in front of a computer screen, at school, or with my family.
