Back 2 Back for The Lady Commodores

The Lady Commodores entered the 2016-17 NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship in Lubbock Texas as the #1 seed in the tournament and they would not disappoint. The women would face four teams in the tournament and came out victors by more than 10 points in each of those contests.  Gulf Coast would win the tournament by beating Trinity Valley by 24 points.  The final victory would end up being their most dominant of the tournament shooting 51% from the field while holding Trinity Valley to a meager 38%.  The Lady Dores stormed out to a 16-3 lead to start the game and never looked back securing their 2nd consecutive National Title. This is the first time in history the Lady Commodores have won back to back triple crowns (Champs in Conference, Region, National).  This also marks Gulf Coasts Fifth National Title all coming under current Head Coach Roonie Scoval.
