Destiny 2 Open Beta:

The open beta had a decent amount of content to offer a sneak peek of how destiny 2 mechanics will work. The gameplay was fluid and felt very familiar. There is a slight graphical upgrade compared to the original game. Running in 60fps did help the entire experience and make gameplay more enjoyable compared to the first one. However, they did change a few mechanics that made the game more annoying than anything. They switched a few things like making weapons that were secondaries to heavy items. The one that really annoyed me was the switch of sniper rifles to heavy weapons. Another thing changed is the special abilities each class had and made it a cool down. Along with that they have made cooldowns take forever to recharge, which is a drag compared to the previous game that would recharge in half the time. What I personally didn’t like is that it forced you to do a mission before having the option to run a strike or play in the crucible multiplayer. Overall the game is looking good but not great. Hopefully the game will get better when it comes out.

Call of Duty WW2 Private Beta:

First impressions of the beta were a fresh welcome as Call of Duty seems to be going back to their roots. For the private beta there was a surprising amount of guns available and more were unlocked as the days progressed. The total level cap was 40 and the end of the second session of the closed beta. First session lasted four days and the second session lasted the same amount of days as well. The sounds were iconic and as usual the gameplay was fast paced. However, some aspects of the gameplay felt like a cheap rip off of the game Battlefield 1. The bayonet charge especially felt weird and oddly placed into the game. Game modes were basic but had the typical ones most games had. Sadly they didn’t have hardcore mode which would have made it more interesting. Overall great beta and excited for the full game coming out.
