When Battlefront II was first released there was a huge amount of controversy for the loot systems and unlocking characters. It was estimated to take 40 hours of gameplay to unlock Darth Vader which stood at 80,000 credits. This character was one of the two most expensive characters to purchase in the game. However, EA had micro transaction to purchase in game currency that would allow you to purchase these characters faster. They also had them available for loot crates that gave your character’s power ups to get an edge above the other players. This information became the most down voted page on reddit and caused an uproar in the gaming community. Thankfully EA actually listened to their customers for once and has currently removed all micro transactions and has considerably lowered all the cost of hero’s/villain’s and upgrades. Darth Vader’s cost went down from 80,000 to 15,000 which is more reasonable.

Not much has changed however from the beta to the full game. Of course there is now more star cards in game and guns. The new maps are extremely well done and have amazing graphics and very authentic compared to the movies. One issue that hasn’t been brought up widely yet is when playing the game in 4k resolution. While playing in 4k with my squad we all have noticed squared pixels and textures while playing the game. This is also on loading screens and other artwork. Its predominantly in the dark pixels where it seems as the graphics were only designed with 1080p in mind. This is an easy fix but I’m not sure when they will patch this issue. Also on PS4 there is an issue with squads as it is sometimes very difficult to get into a game with all teammates as the game will occasionally freak out and send you back to the main menu. After this you cannot join anyone else until you restart the game. There is also another issue where if your party is too big it can kick a person out when you try to join a match. The unlucky user is given an error code and has to restart their system as well. Other than these minuscule issues the gameplay is fantastic and I’m looking forward to the free DLC maps coming in the future.
