The John M. Holley Dining Room is an upscale dining room where the culinary department practices fine dining techniques. It is conveniently located on the first floor just around the corner from the culinary department inside of the Advanced Technology Center. In this dining room the culinary students will get to see what it will be like working in the restaurant industry. They’ll have a chance to receive hands-on training where they’ll learn different techniques in every aspect of a fine dining restaurant, from hosting, waiting, and being the chef.

In this beautiful, reservation only restaurant, you will receive a five-star dining experience and get the chance to experience a diverse menu. You’ll want to make sure to make multiple reservations both in the spring and fall semesters as the menu changes often. In the Fall you’ll get to experience an à la carte luncheon menu, which simply means you can order separate items rather than ordering a set meal. In the Spring, you’ll get a chance to dine like a king while you are served a multi-course meal that features elegant French inspired dishes.

John Holley was not only a certified culinary arts professor, but a mentor as well. His teaching career spanned over 14 years and he was a part of Gulf Coast State College’s Culinary Arts Program since 1992. In memory of their great friend and mentor, Floyd and Gloria Skinner had the dining room named in his honor.

So, if you have the chance to get a reservation you should be sure to grab one as they fill up in advance. It’s also a great way to support the students, culinary department, and the school.
