Last time I talked about Fragments of Amaris the D&D show being made by Corum Byers based on his novel and mentioned two other projects. Continuing the Capstone Project series this will be about The Crew revamp being headed by Amon Philyaw. The crew was a show in 2014 premiering around late February also featuring Amon and others as an advice and talk show where they would answer questions sent in and give their views, tell stories and have fun. With the revamp in 2019 they are pushing the show to be more challenge based following internet trends, while still trying to keep the old talk/advice show formula.
I asked Amon about the show mainly its history and its new reboot his reply was “The Crew is a talk show based television show. It’s origin came about in the year 2014 with a reboot following in 2019. The show has a varying cast of host with one to two regulars, traditionally the show has been and all male cast with a variety of different viewpoints. Segments are also very common in the show, such as; Manvice, Whatshappening, Chew or Spew, the crew on the street and many others!”
The new cast and people behind the scenes look excited to work on the project being mostly new faces to the show however Caleb Jordan who now helps run the College Radio station is back as well.
The first episode has been filmed and is currently in post-production, the show has taken a bit to start moving again but is starting to look stable in its production phases. The first episode will hopefully make people watch the show again or go back and watch the previous season of The Crew to see how far the program and its students have come. The new cast did do a short Facebook Live after filming wrapped and talked about the show, introduced themselves and urged people to watch it when it finally comes out.
