The Last Major Event of the Year Recap
Halo esports saw the end of their major tournament calendar for the year at Atlanta during Dreamhack. Dreamhack Atlanta saw two Halo events this year with the Halo 5 2v2 tournament with the main event being Halo 3 4v4.
The Friday started off light with most of the action being in pools. The top teams that were favorites were Tox Gaming and LUX Gaming. Tox was looking like the best team of the year while LUX was no pushover, having Halo legends of their own on their team.
Saturday was the start of total beatdowns. With Winners Quarters, the Top 8 would fight it out. The teams would fight hard, but every match would end in 3-0 series. The trend carried over on the Loser’s Bracket side with many 3-0 sets also. By the end of it, the two favorites in the tournament, both flawless, would be facing each other for Winners Finals.

Championship Sunday
Championship Sunday arrives. Tox and LUX are set for their match. Both teams up to Winners Finals were undefeated and today would be the end of one of their streaks. Tox looked strong in the opening, both teams fighting tooth and nail to secure a spot in the Grand Finals. The games would go back and forth as the teams battled it out. It would come down to the final game and they would battle back and forth. In the end Tox would be sent down to the Loser’s Bracket with LUX emerging victorious.
Tox however, would not go down without a fight. Facing Team Mantra, Tox Gaming would prove they belonged in the Grand Finals, dominating into a 4-0 series win to grab the last Grand Finals spot. The goal for them then, was to win two best of seven series against the team that brought them to Losers Finals, LUX Gaming.
The Comeback
Grand Finals, the last major tournament of the year. Tox had just finished their Losers Finals win and looked for revenge. The games were fierce as the two battled it out. LUX was confident, but did not have momentum and it showed as Tox quickly took control and won the first series 4-1. With the bracket reset, Tox had one more set to play to win, while LUX was starting to falter. Coming back to fight, LUX would put up more of a fight, but in the end could not stop Tox Gaming as Tox would end up 4-2.
With the 2019 major scene over, Tox Gaming cemented itself as a Halo powerhouse, looking strong to round out the year and head to 2020 with a hunger for winning.
