Gulf Coast State College students are now taking more online courses due to the recent pandemic. Decreased foot traffic on campus leads to the loss of food truck contracts made at the beginning of this semester. Grizzly Brew Coffee soon to be the leading meal option for the campus.
FOOD TRUCKS
Gulf Coast signed on two food trucks at the beginning of this semester, Back Porch BBQ and La Fagota, for Mondays through Thursdays from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm. However, the sales were not sufficient enough for Back Porch BBQ who pulled out from their contract two weeks ago. La Fagota is still contracted, however, they are now only available on Wednesdays from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm. Sources say La Fagota is thinking of backing out of their contract for the same reason. The lack of food truck availability leads to students having to find other meal options.
COMMODORE MARKET
Our once known cafeteria has been converted into the Commodore Market this Fall 2020 due to the contract for the previous cafeteria workers being up and interest in their food being down. The Commodore Market is located in the Student Union East, complete with snacks, small microwavable meals, sandwiches, and beverages to purchase at the self-checkout station. If you have any requests for the Commodore Market, send in a request to SGA.
GRIZZLY BREW COFFEE
Do not lose hope for the food on campus, however, because Grizzly Brew Coffee might just be our saving grace!
Grizzly Brew Coffee is located in the Advanced Technology Center on the first floor, and Grizzly uses fresh ingredients to offer students specialty coffees, such as the new Pumpkin Spice Latte, and a variety of meal options- from muffins to wraps, or try a new Pasta Bake! Students can order in store or online at www.grizzlybrewcoffee.com/s/order
Grizzly Brew Coffee hours are 7:30 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Thursday. Breakfast is served from 7:30 am until 10:30 am, and lunch is from 10:30 am until 3:30 pm.
