How Does Faculty Opinion Compare To Student’s?

The overwhelming opinion about the food on campus was surprising, but what does a member of the faculty think?

Students may only come to the campus for short periods of time, to go to class or do homework. Meanwhile, faculty members are clocking in and staying on campus several days a week, at least. How do they feel about the food options available on campus?

Kim Allen’s Opinion On Food On Campus

Kim Allan was asked whether she eats on campus, she responds,

“Normally off-campus. As I usually eat lunch with my husband and we use this time to spend with each other.”

However, she does go to the Grizzly Brew Coffee in the ATC, stating,

“Yes I have and it is great. Their service is always friendly and it’s good food quality.”

When asked if she had been to the Commodore Market, she responds,

“No. This is not the type of food that I normally eat.”

This faculty member’s opinion is directly in line with what the students feel in the previous article where two students state they visit and enjoy Grizzly Brew Coffee but dislike the Commodore Market and the third stated they would like “healthier options” at the Commodore Market.

This trend shows the overall opinion for the campus leans towards gaining a better option in the cafeteria than what is offered now with Commodore Market.

“I think it would be great if we could get more options of quality food, possibly even partnering with big names such as Chic-Fil-A, Starbucks, or something along those lines that would draw a bigger crowd.” Proposes Kim Allan as a possible solution to the issue.

The next step is to bring the ideas for improvement to the SGA so that they can be made aware of what the majority wants. Anybody can come and submit a suggestion to the SGA suggestion box located in the Cafeteria. SGA is not in charge of what goes into the cafeteria, however, they do influence change for the cafeteria and campus, so any suggestions are worth it!
