Every single Tuesday and Thursday from 10 AM to 12 PM Cryptid Radio airs on WKGC’S 90.7 HD3. Each week two episodes featuring completely insane and creative cryptids and anomalies, all leading into an overall plot. Not much is really known about the masterminds behind what is Cryptid Radio, but we managed to grab an interview with both hosts Dawn and Cera.

Interview with Cryptid Host Cera Lawrence

What type of music do you like?

I really enjoy Japanese pop music, especially that of the bubblegum variety. I love “girlie” music, and there is something about some Japanese pop songs that are just the perfect amount of cute for me.

What is one of your favorite iconic cryptids?

My favorite iconic cryptic is the Loveland Frogmen from Ohio. They are just overgrown frogs and I like that.

What is your vision for Cryptid Radio?

My vision for Cryptid Radio is to add a twist to our reality. Adding a layer of horror onto the real world is a concept I have always really enjoyed. ARGs play on that a bit. I think the most impactful type of horror turns everyday life into something to dread. That sensation of dread is something I would like to create myself.

Have you had any previous experience with Radio in general?

I have had a radio production class before. We got to learn about the board and more of the technical side of the radio which was interesting. Outside of this, however, I do not have that much experience.

How do you prepare for an episode of Cryptid Radio?

Preparing for an episode of Cryptid Radio requires my partner and me to meet up a couple of days before our show. During this time, we create the topic and our lines, as well as discuss future episodes.
