One of the most useful advantages to Gulf Coast is the sheer amount of things on campus, while we don’t compete with a university in terms of options we do have an on-site gym that is open for all of the students and faculty to use. It has all of the basic things you need from a pull-up station to a row of treadmills and cycling machines you can work out on while you’re watching videos on your phone. The gym rarely has more than a couple of people in it so you won’t be waiting for the machines you need to do your workout. The fact that we have a gym right on campus saves you money but it is also much more convenient because you are already going to be on campus several times a week, why not work out while you’re there.

Our college also has a shared beach with FSU PC, a wonderful little strip of land across the street from the campus with covers and picnic tables so people can sit and enjoy the sea breeze while watching the waves roll onto the shore. The beach isn’t really deep enough to swim at but it’s nice to walk across and you can dip your toes in the water undisturbed by the crowds of people that our regular beaches have most of the year. It’s a good place to sit and study when the lights inside start to drive you crazy during your long study sessions before exams.

I also use our expansive sidewalks to longboard around campus a non-feature but something fun and enjoyable all the same. The campus is big enough and friendly to all human-powered vehicles so it’s not a bad place to get some exercise by just riding around and having fun. So go out and enjoy yourself.
