Spirit Week & Club Rush Success
This morning in the Fishbowl studio, I sat down with Zenovia from SGA. Zenovia is SGA’s “Events Coordinator” and just this week her and the rest of the folks in the association worked very hard to put together and make spirit week and club rush a success. The smell of hamburgers and hot-dogs, being cooked on the huge grill by Chaz from SGA, filled the air, along with music provided by Commodore Productions. “We had a great turnout, over 100 people showed up,” Zenovia said. Everyone wore their masks and social distancing guidelines were in place and followed as with all events put on at the college. Even with a pandemic going on it is so great to see everyone coming together and just having some good old fashioned fun! The food was great, drinks and snacks were also provided, all for free! Thank you SGA for all you do for OUR school!
What’s Going On Next Week?
Zenovia also told me all about next week, what’s going on and what’s FREE! “So we have Women’s History Month trivia from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the SUE ROOM on Wednesday.” So be sure to stop by, there will be snacks! Speaking of snacks, on Tuesday SGA will be giving out FREE cookies in the Student Union Breezeway from 12-1 p.m. I was told there will be chocolate chip and sugar to name a few and then on Thursday it is FREE Tropical Smoothie’s from 11-12:15 p.m. also in the Student Union Breezeway.
SGA Election Results
Finally the votes have been counted and the results are in! The moment you have all been waiting for has arrived!
GCSC SGA Executive Board Members for 2021-2022 school year;
“President is ‘Sophie Theiss’,
Vice-President is ‘Ashton Norton’,
Secretary is ‘Elly Williams’ and
Online Engagement Officer is ‘Millie Lamb'”. Zenovia goes on to say that the members will be officially sworn in to their respected offices in late April 2021.
