Ayo Dosunmu vs. Drexel:

Sadly Dosunmu’s journey with the Illini has came to an end this past Sunday, March 21, 2021, against another team out of Illinois, Loyola Chicago. They were in the second round of the NCAA tournament with NO. 1 Illini beating No. 16 Drexel, 78-49, and No. 8 Loyola Chicago beating No. 9 Georgia Tech in the first round. Dosunmu only had 9 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists within 38 min. If you didn’t know, college games are split into 2 halves with 20 minutes in each half. Ayo Dosunmu’s college basketball stats in this game were lower than his average in his preseason.

Ayo Dosunmu’s Face Injury:

Dosunmu had an injury during their game against Michigan State. Mady Sissoko hit him and was ejected from the game with a Flagrant 2 foul. Dosunmu finished the game against Michigan with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Rumors were going around saying Dusunmu had a broken nose, but once that injury came about, he wanted to came back with vengeance. He sat out for 3 total games and had to watch hi steam play on Senior night at the college. After the healing process while sitting out those 3 games, he came out wearing a mask for the rest of the season. Illini fans started calling him ‘Batman’ because of the mask he was wearing. They felt the mask gave him characteristics like batman. Saying he’s stronger, inspirational and agile on the court.

Dosunmu’s 2020-21 Season:

Check out some of his highlights from the 2020-21 college basketball season. He has been working to be the best player in the mid-west, the U.S and the NATION!!! There are many players all around that are trying to get ranked high in the rankings so the NBA Draft will consider them.

Dosunmu has had some very eye popping memorable moments during this season. Having idolized Kobe Bryant, Dosunmu decided to recreate one of Bryant’s photos. Bryant’s picture was taken  on June 15, 2001 when the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2001 NBA Finals. Even though it wasn’t the NBA Championship trophy, it was the BIG 10 Championship trophy with the Fighting Illini finishing the original season with the record of 16-4.

Whats Next For Dosunmu?:

He has his eyes on the NBA Draft. His Draft Projection is to be ‘late lottery to mid first round pick in the 2021 NBA Draft’. November 18, 2021, which is a Wednesday, is when the NBA Draft is. If they didn’t lose in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, Dosunmu would’ve been a first round pick. He was hoping on the Phoenix Suns at first, but also has an interest in the Houston Rockets.
