About Greg Brown and his top charting:
Greg Brown topping charts as a freshman in college may sound untrue but it’s really real. Greg Timothy Brown III, was born in Dallas, TX but graduated from Vandegrift High School in Austin, TX. Brown has came a long way from playing on the courts of his high school, to playing on the big screen dominating his opponents. Coming into college, he was ranked the No. 8 prospect in the nation. With Brown being the No. 8 prospect, he earned first-team All-America honors by Sports Illustrated and became the first Austin-area boys basketball player to earn ‘Texas Gatorade Player of the Year’ honors since the award began in 2000. This is a big accomplishment from someone if they are the first from their area to even receive an award like that!
Brown is 6 foot 9 inches, weighs 205lbs and has a 6’10 wingspan. Having that type of wingspan, puts him in a good position dealing with other forwards. The average height for a forward in college is about 6’5″-6’7″ (depending on if you are a Small Forward or Power Forward), but Browns height is above and gives him an advantage in his conference. He is one of the leading forwards for the Texas Longhorns averaging 9.6 points, 6.4 rebounds and has a 41.7 field goal percentage (FG%) per game.
Greg Brown’s Top Dunk:
On November 25th, 2020, Texas Longhorns went up against the UT-Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros and this was their first meet up of the year. During the game, Brown made headlines with his amazing athleticism and trending poster dunk. He is not someone you want to meet at the rim because his vertical and wingspan could, and probably will, go over you and turn you into a poster dunk reel.
Greg Brown Topping Charts With Sport Center:
Sport Center has something to say on Twitter about this young star and his poster dunk. NOT ONLY has he made headlines once for a poster dunk, but they believed this man should have the dunk of the year with this one… Is this the best dunk of the 2020-21 college men’s basketball season?
Greg Brown in NCAA Tournament:
Brown and the Texas Longhorns are ranked No. 3 in the Eastern Conference. On March 20, 2020 they were set to play No. 14 Abilene Christian Wildcats. Since the Longhorns were ranked much higher than Abilene Christian, this would be a walk in the park… The Longhorns had the lead at the half with a score of 28-23. But once the 2nd half came about, it was blow after blow and they were neck and neck.
What’s Browns Next Move?
It’s not that hard to tell since their season is really over with. He plans on keeping his body in shape for the next upcoming season, practicing on his dunks and vertical for more top charting dunks, staying healthy and getting his education. He’s only a freshman but there are many goals this young man is trying to success in, so I know he will be doing his part to get there! Do you think he will make a bigger impact as a sophomore than he did as a freshman?
