Who is Alex?
Alex Polon is a digital media production major at Gulf Coast State College. She started attending classes in the fall of 2017 after graduating from Mosley high school. She recently switched her major from computer science to the digital media production major because she feels more at home working with cameras and feels that it is a more engaging activity. Alex became a Commodore Productions Assistant around two months ago.
What has she done as a Commodore Productions team member?
During her time working as a Commodore Productions Assistant, she has done some directing but, mainly her involvement with the team lies with camera work, graphics, and audio work. The best part for Alex?
With all of the work that Alex has done as a Commodore Productions Assistant, she has a specific area that she finds is the most rewarding for herself.
Out of all of the things I have done, definitely directing was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. Cameras also because having that perfect shot, especially at the right moment is really the best part id say.
She has stated that she has done amateur photography for a number of years in her free time for fun and finds enjoyment in the art of photography as a whole.
What is something this will be useful for in the future?
When she graduates from Gulf Coast State College Alex says that the creative tasks that she has done while being a Commodore Productions Assistant will help her I the future with whatever job she decides to pursue.
What is something you want to do more of with the Commodore Productions team?
Alex says she wants to work more with cameras and learn more about them so she can do videography. Eventually, she has hopes of doing professional camera work.
What kind of career are you looking for?
Not really anything super specific because I think that I have a basic understanding and can kind of do everything in the digital media world. I have done Html web design and made my own websites, I have done logo design and made my own logos, and have done some production work.
While certain that she wants to work in the digital media field, she does not have her heart set on one specific kind of job in the field. She says that she will be happy with whatever kind of job comes her way.
What would you say to someone who is on the fence about joining?
Don’t be afraid even if you do not have any experience. We can definitely train you and you’ll find that it’s not that hard to pick up. It is a lot more rewarding than you would think and it is a lot of fun.
Although only being with the Commodore Productions Team for around two months Alex Polon has been able to learn a lot about the production field.
