Lifestyles: On Campus vs Off Campus Life
In general, everyone has their lifestyles. Also known as the way they live their lives or how they make a living. Student lifestyles for people who are on campus and off-campus are quite different. As students, we must consider how we are going to build a career for ourselves. Sometimes it can be easy to juggle school and a growing career. Then sometimes it can be one of the hardest things to do as a student. A huge thing most students deal with is trying to find the balance between the two. Depending on the route a student takes in college will either make it hard or easy on them.
On-Campus Lifestyles
Off-Campus Lifestyles
For on-campus students, they face more challenges to even start their careers while in school. Campus students have less time to focus on life and find themselves wrapped in their schooling. Being involved in your school more than your life is not a bad thing. Some students prefer to finish out their student days before ever considering their lifestyle. Other students that want to have a student life and career life are finding it to be exceedingly difficult. Taking classes on campus and trying to be a part of your future career do not always coincide. The classes tend to inflict on the time that is given to the student. A student can not always find a career field that is willing to grow with the student over time.
The difference for off-campus students is that there is more time given. Off-campus, students strive to build their lifestyles and focus on their schooling. Some of these students have their careers in order and are maintaining their student life as well. With these students being online there is not much of a time constraint against them. Nor do they have to be in a classroom at a timed slot. Freedom from timing and almost all scheduling are what allows them the ability to do both. Off-campus, students can have both their careers and continue going to school as well. There is much less friction between the two subjects and can provide student growth much sooner.
New and Current Students
For new and current students these elements must be considered. To build your lifestyle, by having a career and focus on school. The student must weigh in the two options and see how their choice of learning will affect them. If the student strives on campus but wants to build their career. Then there may be a decision to be made. As for students striving off-campus, they will find that there is ease to focus on both elements. Sometimes building your lifestyle and continuing your schooling can work out. The student though must find where they are going to grow the most in the end.
Now with the pandemic still in mind, students have had to decide on where their focus lies. Some students have turned their focus only to school. While others continue to juggle both factors. These changes are because of when the pandemic started. Many of the businesses began to close for a time being. This affected many of the students’ lifestyles and pushed them toward their schooling. Some students are still focused on school and have yet to double back. The pandemic caused many changes to the student life and lifestyles of the students. Most students now strive off-campus but are still struggling to build back their lifestyle.
