Who are they?

Everyone has seen them online, but more and more we are starting to see them “In the wild”.

They usually share one or more of the following beliefs:

1: Covid-19 is fake/ a hoax

2: They do not have to wear a mask inside a private establishment that has clear rules in place stating masks are required.

2a: Along with this they like to outright ignore the fact that a private establishment can make its own rules. They claim that it is “unconstitutional” even though they could legally deny anyone entrance to the building if they refused to wear pajama pants and flip-flops.

3: When told to wear a mask in a grocery store they like to make any excuse they can. They excuse the fact that anything and everything you want and need can be bought online. They ignore that needing to physically walk into a store has not been a need since the late 2000s.

The Undercover Covid Complicators

These are individuals who try to cheat the system and are trying their absolute best to find a way to walk around maskless so that they try and convince themselves that everything is normal. These individuals are completely careless of others and simply do not care that they are walking around breathing on everyone else, due to it making their lives more pleasant.

Some characteristics of these individuals:

1: Wear the mask under the nose in a fashion South Park has accurately described as a “Chin Diaper”

2: These Individuals will wear masks that are made of netting material or masks that have holes cut in them.

3: Some of them like to print out and laminate a cute little card to try and Larp as someone who is exempt from wearing a mask.

What now?

Nothing more can be done about the Covid Complicators that has not already been done. This includes arrests for trespassing, etc. All we can do is know what the signs are for these individuals and acknowledge how ridiculous they are. There is no point in arguing with these people because clearly, they cannot even comprehend that virus + spread of the virus = bad. They have somehow found a way to believe that wearing a mask during a global pandemic in order to help stop the spread of a virus is a political issue, rather than a health issue involving the safety and well-being of everyone in the world.

How can I help?

The best way to help these people is by following proper Covid guidelines. This includes social distancing, wearing masks, and only going out when you need to. Hopeful one day they will realize how to be respectful to other people.
