To begin, Gulf Coast State College is so much more than an educational campus. To clarify, it’s also where creatives alike can showcase their unique talents. That is why, each semester the faculty team plan programs to display entertainment.
Therefore, this semester make plans to attend the GCSC Art Gallery in the Amelia Gallery Center! Now whether your a fan of art exhibits or simply looking for next-level entertainment, consider yourself invited to: “Campus Life – Painting by Nan Liu.”
Meet the Artist: Nan Liu
For starters, the esteemed artist is none other than Nan Liu. Currently, he’s a professor at Florida A & M University. He has intensely studied and made the Xie Yi painting style his own. His story begins at a very young age in Tianjin, China. There he studied Chinese brush painting and calligraphy. Then, after moving to the United States he earned both a Master of Fine Arts degree in painting and a Ph.D in art education from Florida State University.
His work has been showcased regionally, nationally, and internationally! In other words, doesn’t that just motivate you even more to visit the GCSC Art Gallery?
About the Art
This traditional Xie Yi painting style is a traditional Chinese painting technique. As a result of using Chinese brush and colored ink on Xuan paper, it emphasizes the spontaneous use of ink and color washes. The GCSC Art Gallery hosting Nan Liu highlights campus life over at Florida A & M University. Nan Liu is particularly interested in the “effortless creativity and bold assertion of self these young men and women demonstrate in the vivid colors and shapes of their clothing.” (Pavel Amromin, Associate Professor, Amelia Center Gallery Contact).

WHEN?
To start you must know important details about the event. Plan to visit the exhibit from September 10 to October 8 2021. Most importantly, gallery hours are Monday – Thursday, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., and Friday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Therefore, you have just a few days left to check it out!

Secondly, make your way to the display at the Amelia Center Gallery (AC 112). This is at Gulf Coast State College, Panama City Campus.
