Ciao Bambino March 24-26 and March 31- April 2 Click for Tickets

Gulf Coast State College is now finished with performing Gruesome Playground Injuries on stage, and we thought it was the last play of the Spring semester, as stated in my previous article. But soon, it will be time for GCSC to perform a new story called Ciao Bambino – The Musical, directed by Vincent Pelligrino.

ABOUT THE MUSICAL

Written by Elizabeth Allen Turner, the story focuses on a brave Italian woman, Elizabetta, who moves to New York City in 1945 to live a new life. According to the musical’s website, Elizabetta navigates the delicate balance of trying to fit into “American” society while staying true to her “Italian” traditions at the same time, and she discovers passion and joy through pursuing love and music. Before becoming an upcoming GCSC production, Ciao Bambino started off as a collection of Mediterranean Pop songs back in summer of 2012, which are the songs Elizabeth herself wrote for the story, including “It feels good to be Italian”, “I want to be in Italy”, “Vita Mia” and “La Mia Estate Amore”. More information on the musical is provided on the official webpage: www.ciaobambinothemusical.com.
