It is that time of the year again, for Gulf Coast State Collage is hosting this year’s Student Art Show, where you can soon view various artwork from students at the Amelia Center Gallery.
ABOUT THE EVENT
The art show will consist of its entire gallery full of paintings, sculptures, drawings, and more made by the talented and creative art students over the year. It has been hosted every year since 2012, which was when the Spring Arts Showcase was held. According to another article from 2018 at mypanhandle.com, Visual and Performing Arts assistant professor, Pavel Amromin, had this to say, “This is usually one of my favorite shows for the year. You really kind of get to see what the students have been working on and how much they’ve grown over the course of the year.” The GCSC website’s Visual and Performing Arts webpage said the Amelia Center was built and named for its patron, Amelia G. Tapper, in the late 90’s. The students there have been working very hard, pouring their hearts and souls onto their projects as they learn from their professors.
The students there can sign up to transfer to other art programs for different schools in Florida. For example, they can transfer to the New World School of the Arts in Miami, the University of South Florida School of Art in Tampa, and the University of Central Florida School of Visual Arts and Design in Orlando. Those are some of the best art schools listed at the College Gazette website.
The Students Art Show exhibit will run from April 22nd (1:00 – 3:00 PM on opening day) to May 1st, and it is free for the public to enter. If you are interested in participating, more information on the event is on the official GCSC Visual and Performing Arts Facebook page.
