Curtain Call
“Blood Wedding,” a tragedy written by Spanish dramatist Federico García Lorca, was staged for seven nights between October and November in the Amelia Center Theatre Lab, also known as the Black Box. This marked the opening show of the 2023-2024 season and featured a diverse cast of both students and volunteers alike.
Working Outside of the Box
In the week leading up to the show, students in the Center for Student Media at Gulf Coast had the opportunity to work behind the scenes of the production. Having previously worked more traditionally with GC Athletics, our technically inclined and ambitious students found the change of genre to be quite exciting.
From the dressing room to the stage, this was a great opportunity for both the Digital Media Program and the Visual & Performing Arts Program to collaborate and exchange perspectives—both in front of and behind the camera.
