SJSFGC is an organization regarding more specifically right now currently into the Guilty Gear scene. SJSFGC was created in December 2022. Recently, they have been known out into the community for being a group that is feared and seen as a powerhouse. Slowly they have been making really big moves into the scene which has been giving them more publicity mainly regarding on twitter. Currently, they have 14 Competitive members, 2 Graphic Designers, Commentators, and as of right now one full streamer for there channel. They have a tournament that is run on Saturdays every other week which brings people around pretty frequently. Currently now, their just planning out what to do for there team members and and other workers. However SJSFGC had a very interesting and slow start in order to get where they are today.

As mentioned previously, the SJSFGC server was first created in December of 2022. Originally it started with just a group of friends mainly regarding the following people named:

For about a month (December 2022- January 2023), There private friend tournament was called Frame Five Fridays (people would call it F5F for short.) which was referencing a fast punch and normal frame number that would be seen in most fighting games. The tournaments were always fun for them but eventually a few of them were thinking about making tournaments for people that also played the same game. It was a way for them to network and be able to talk to people that also enjoyed the same fighting game. This is how everything would get started

After their 2nd F5F (Frame Five Friday) is when they decided to have a vote and choose as to when they want to host their first ever public tournament. However, once voting started, it was said that if Friday was not the given voted day than Frame Five Fridays will no longer be the name since it would not match with the day nor would the name be as relevant. “Also note since no one mentioned it if it goes on a day other than Friday we will rebrand so no more frame 5” – KoldKoffee, 12:09 PM 1/31/2023.

After only within a few hours it was a mass vote of Saturday being the chosen day to be used for their first tournament. Frame Five Fridays was no more but luckily the group brainstormed and went with Safejump Saturdays. “Safejump Saturday if its Saturday or no balls.” -Nep. “OUUU LOWKEY, thats hard.” -KoldKoffee, 12:50 PM 1/31/2023.

As the first Safejump Saturdays they were having was getting closer and closer they got an original logo made and the group was a bit surprised as to how many people were joining in this tournament for the first time. “Jesus Christ, that’s a lot of people my boy, we like to see it.” -SkAr, 4:45 PM on 2/04/23. CirillaIsAlwaysBored insisted that they could stream and commentate for the first tournament since they had the proper equipment to stream it on twitch.

The tournament was really chaotic both with players and TO’s. Some players did not know how to disqualify or check in for there matches and some TO’s did not know how to fix a few issues that were happening along with the tournament.

Northkid_2: “Regarding this week, how does everybody think it went?”

Space_Hippi: “I think it went well, a little hectic but it got there quick”

KoldKoffee: “very sloppy, because a lot of first time users didn’t know how the site works. hoping seeding will go better as well many really good players got out early because it was a tiny bit wack but we learn from these mistakes.”

Due to how the results of the first tournament they had were they were inspired to continue and keep making brackets, they decided to continue doing the bracket as a weekly event with money involved. More meetings and more improvement is shown as they moved forward and start making a slow but amazing changes.
