  • The College Fair is tomorrow, September 12.

Gulf Coast State College will be hosting the Bay County College Fair on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 6-8 pm CST. The event will feature over 40 colleges and universities in GCSC’s Student Union East (SUE) Cafeteria. It is free to attend and open to the community.

  • View Art Inspired Abroad at the “Made in Greece X” Exhibit opens September 13.

“Made in Greece X” features artwork created by GCSC students and faculty who participated in the Athens/Skopelos Study Abroad program this summer. The exhibit will be available Friday, September 13, through Friday, October 11, 2024, in the Amelia G. Tapper Center Gallery, with an opening reception on Friday, September 13, from 5-7 pm CST.

  • The deadline to apply to our Diagnostic Medical Sonography program is September 15.

The deadline to apply for the Spring 2025 Diagnostic Medical Sonography cohort is Sunday, September 15, 2024. Sonographers perform diagnostic procedures using high-frequency sound waves to visualize structures within the body. The program takes 24 months to complete and licensed graduates earn an average salary of $78,210. Learn more at www.gulfcoast.edu/health-sciences.

  • Enrichment Courses for Senior Adults Offered Through Education Encore, with Classes Starting September 20.

Education Encore is a non-credit enrichment program offered at GCSC. The fall term starts Friday, September 20, 2024, and runs for six consecutive weeks. Attendees have a variety of topics they can choose from, including bird watching, watercolor painting, and aquatic exercise. The fee to attend is $125. Register at www.gulfcoast.edu/encore

  • Celebrate Banned Books Week September 22-28.     

Banned Books Week is September 22-28, 2024. This year’s theme is “Freed Between the Lines”, and GCSC will be hosting events throughout the week to celebrate the freedom to read.

  • Come Listen to Some Tunes at GCSC’s Faculty & Friends Recital on September 29.

The Visual and Performing Arts Division will be hosting its “GCSC Faculty and Friends Music Recital” on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at 2:30 pm CST in the Amelia Tapper Center. The event will feature GCSC faculty, staff, and friends as they create a musical journey that covers a variety of music. It’s free to attend, but donations will be accepted for the VPA scholarship fund.

  • The deadline to apply to our Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program is September 30.

The deadline to apply for the Spring 2025 Registered Nursing cohort is Monday, September 30, 2024. RNs plan and coordinate patient care. The program takes 24 months to complete and licensed graduates earn an average salary of $84,760. Learn more at www.gulfcoast.edu/health-sciences.

  • Graduation Application Due for Fall 2024 is September 30.

Students planning on graduating at the conclusion of the Fall 2024 semester need to apply for graduation by Monday, September 30, 2024. For questions, please contact the GCSC Graduation Specialist at GCSCGraduation@gulfcoast.edu.

  • Get Support Creating your FSA ID on September 30.

Individuals planning to complete the FAFSA for tuition assistance can get help creating their FSA ID, required to complete the FAFSA.  The FSA ID event will be held on both the GCSC Panama City Campus (Student Union West, first floor) and Gulf Franklin Campus (Building B), on Monday, September 30, 2024, from 4-6 pm CST/4-6 pm EST.  The events are free to attend and open to the public.

  • Register for Fall C Classes. Classes begin October 14.

The Fall 2024 semester is underway, but there is another term for students interested in completing courses this semester. Fall C is an eight-week term that begins on Monday, October 14, 2024, with many of the term courses offered online. View the course catalog at www.gulfcoast.edu/catalog.
