Panama City, FL– Gulf Coast State College’s Visual & Performing Arts Division is hosting three upcoming events for the public to enjoy: the Seventeenth Annual Cup Show, a national ceramics exhibition, and two-holiday concerts featuring GCSC’s music ensembles. Both events are free and open to the public.
17th Annual Cup Show: Form and Function
This nationally juried show is a survey of the wide variety of approaches to contemporary ceramics through the lens of the most intimate and accessible vessel, the cup. The central theme of the exhibition is the function and concept of the drinking vessel, including its relation to history, politics, craft, technology, utility and narrative. The juror of the show this year is Martha Grover.
The exhibit opens with a reception on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. CST and runs through December 6, 2024, in the Amelia Center Gallery (Room 112).
Gallery Hours:
- Monday – Thursday: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Friday: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Holiday Concerts: Jazz Band, Singing Commodores, Concert Chorale & Concert Band
Enjoy GCSC’s holiday concerts, starting with the Jazz Band and Singing Commodores on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 7:30 p.m., followed by the Concert Chorale and Concert Band on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. Join us as we showcase our Gulf Coast State College music ensembles. Enjoy a variety of music, including holiday favorites. The concert is free and open to the public, and donations for the scholarship fund will be accepted.
