What’s Going on in Panama City: Top 4 Places to Go in Panama City

Looking for fun places to go that aren’t geared toward nightlife in Panama City, can be a rather challenging endeavor. Mainly because Panama City Beach in its entirety, is known for its wild lavish party life, with spring break and summer events like Gulf Coast Jam, etc. dominating our town airways and signs.
Luckily for you, I have found the top five places to go here in Panama City that teeter on the side of adult-friendly, but most definitely will be entertaining and worth the experience!
Number 4: Funland Arcade and Dining

Funland has been a staple here in Panama City for almost 80 years, serving the community with many smiles and enjoyment. Coining the title for Northwest Florida’s oldest arcade, no pun intended, it has always had a reputation for having everything from kiddie rides to the latest arcade video games on the market for adults and children alike. Located at 14510 Front Beach Rd, it also has a known reputation from locals and tourists alike for being the most cost-effective food option in the area. They open up at 7:30 AM and stay open until 9 PM; with Fridays and Saturdays being open until 10 PM. With over 100 games to choose from and many prizes to win, you can be sure to enjoy yourself at this local hangout spot.
Number 3: Coconut Creek Family Fun Park

Coconut Creek is another one of those old mainstays here in Panama City that has dedicated itself to being the most all-inclusive form entertainment here in Panama City. Located at 9807 Front Beach Rd, it is easily accessible and quite literally across from the ocean! With options like The Gran Maze, a huge maze the size of a football field, test your odds alone or with friends as you challenge your best navigational skills to find the four checkpoints and complete the maze. Most locals and tourists alike, enjoy the classic mini-golf, however, which now has two course themes to choose from: The Seaside Course and The Tropical Course. Both are sure to keep you captivated for hours to come. If you are out and about and looking for something fun to do, I highly recommend going here to avoid the bar life.
Number 2: Shipwreck Island Waterpark

Shipwreck Island Waterpark has been a place of thrilling adventure and long-lasting enjoyment for both adults and children for over 50 years here in Panama City. Located on 12201 Hutchison Blvd since 1976, Shipwreck Island Waterpark has dedicated itself to serving the community positively by bringing us its first-ever water park attraction, The Zoom Flume Waterslide. From there, the waterpark began bringing in more additions to the park such as The Raging Rapids, and slowly began transforming the park into a tropical paradise. Patrons are provided lockers to store towels/dry clothes and you can even bring food in for yourself/your friends or buy food and beverages at their lovely concession stands. With professionally trained aquatic staff always available at the water park, no matter your swimming level, you can enjoy a safe and fun, wet-drenched experience.
Number 1: Skater’s Choice

Another new attraction and fun experience in the area is the new skating rink and arcade, Skater’s Choice here in Panama City. Located at 5413 Hickory Street, you can surely enjoy this skating rink, known for its smooth, concrete floor that is smooth as ice and its amazing neon light/sound show displays within. With other exciting things to do like playing some of their thrilling arcade games, to winning prizes at the game redemption center, you will never truly be bored here. Skater’s Choice has you covered with several types of yummy snacks including Pizza, hot dogs, Nachos, Chips, Candy, Popcorn, and Soft Drinks to choose from at their concession stand area. Come enjoy this safe, fun-filled version of nightlife and have a stimulating experience at Skater’s Choice!
All in all, there are plenty of places here in Panama City and even on the beach, that are more geared for adventurous fun and less about bar life. Though it can be a literal nightmare when you are venturing out onto the beach to find something safe, there are things out there to do.
