Are you ready for a new show at the Amelia Center Gallery? Opening on March 24th, Gulf Coast State College campus welcomes their newest edition of shows to the center. A group show titled Same Old Story by the Body Narrative Collective.

More About Body Narrative Collective and their Same Old Story

In 2019, a group of artist who focus on ceramics as a medium banded together to form Body Narrative Collective. This ‘collective’ of individuals is some of our very own professors on campus; Pavel Amromin, Jill Foote-Hutton, Magda Gluszek, Tammy Marinuzzi, Keith Smith, and Meghan Sullivan. Their works express the upheaval in recent years during and post the pandemic. Often this group uses their work to provide a narrative on their expressions of political and social complexities.

The title of this group show Same Old Story refers to the phenomenon of ‘Henny Penny’, a tale in which a chicken believes the world is ending on mistaken beliefs. Body Narrative Collective all felt this folklore hit close to home since the pandemic with the change in the world. The work that is going to be presented at the show is supposed to reflect these artists’ thoughts of changes in the recent years.
