This Thursday, Gulf Coast’s women’s team played their first home game since November 4th, as they played host to the Columbia State Chargers. The game was over before it even started, as the Commodores led 36-5 at the end of the first quarter. Alisha Murray had 12 points in the quarter, as she led the way for Gulf Coast. Columbia State attempted to make up some ground in the second quarter as the score at halftime was 54-23. The second half continued the thrashing, with the final score being a 103-48 blowout win for the Commodores. Murray finished with 32 points and 3 steals. For Murray, staying focused and ignoring the score is the key, she stated, “We focus on every possession, and we treat every quarter like it’s 0-0.” The Lady Commodores improve to 12-1 on the season and will travel to Americus, Georgia to play a three game tournament from December 29th to the 31st.
