Panama City, FL– GCSC’s TEMPEST program and radio station WKGC 90.7 FM are sponsoring a Marine Safety Workshop on Saturday, May 18, 2024, coinciding with National Boating Week.

The workshop, presented by Gulf Coast State College, NOAA/NWS Tallahassee, and the Office of Coast Survey, is open to the community and free to attend. The course will serve as an invaluable resource for boating enthusiasts and professionals alike, promoting safety and preparedness on the water.

Participants will learn about precision navigation, nautical charts, marine forecasts, and weather warnings—critical topics regarding safe boat-navigation practices and readiness for hazardous weather conditions. Participants will also have the opportunity to view GCSC’s TEMPEST and WKGC vehicles at the end of the workshop.
