- Health Sciences Dual Enrollment Academy Hosts Open House this Week
Students in 8th – 12th grades and their parents or guardians are invited to join us for the Health Sciences Dual Enrollment Open House on Thursday, November 21, 2024. Find out how high school students can get a head start on the required courses (prerequisites) needed for GCSC’s health sciences and nursing programs. All Gulf Coast State College campuses will be closed November 28 – December 1, 2024 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
- High School Students Can Apply to GCSC for Free in December
GCSC is offering free applications December 2 – 13, 2024, to all high school seniors in Bay, Gulf, and Franklin counties. Please visit www.gulfcoast.edu/admissions to apply. Contact your school navigator or counselor for any questions.
- GCSC’s Public Safety Program Application Deadlines Approaching
Help save lives and make your community a safer place with a career in public safety! Deadlines for the Fire Academy, Emergency Medical Technician, Law Enforcement, and Corrections are approaching soon. Please visit gulfcoast.edu/publicsafety for more information about our programs.
Receive training in basic life support measures, patient assessment, cardiac arrest skills, oxygen therapy, shock prevention, bandaging, splinting, spinal immobilization, and vehicle extraction.
Deadline to apply: December 6, 2024
Receive extensive classroom and practical training as a first responder to medical emergencies, hazardous materials, tactics, ropes, entry, support, prevention, extinguishers, and other fire-related subjects.
Deadline to apply: December 16, 2024
Receive training to enforce rules and regulations and maintain security inside a jail or prison, including the supervision of inmates, searching for contraband, settling disputes between inmates, and enforcing discipline.
Deadline to apply: January 3, 2025
Receive training in firearms, basic first-aid, defensive tactics, constitutional law, and many other subjects.

- Join Us for the 17th Annual Cup Show: Form and Function
GCSC’s Visual & Performing Arts Division is hosting its Seventeenth Annual Cup Show: Form and Function. This nationally juried show provides a wide variety of approaches to contemporary ceramics through the lens of the most intimate and accessible vessel, the cup. The central theme of the exhibition is the function and concept of the drinking vessel, including its relation to history, politics, craft, technology, utility, and narrative.
