We previously found out from industry professionals, that they were able to land their jobs after College because of networking, and being proactive while in college. (Previous Story)

Starting conversations with industry professionals can be intimidating, but it is not impossible. 

The PCB Chamber of Commerce organizes events, several every month, that prospective members or anyone from the community can attend. The events not only focus on networking but also on learning from one another. 

List of Events: 

  • Young Professionals
    This event is open to young professionals from ages 21 – 40 years old. Besides an opportunity of networking, and creating relationships, the attendees have an opportunity to participate in Professional Development Luncheons, Specials, Business Tours, Community events, and more. 
  • Idea Camp
    During this event, attendees may encounter 1-4 speakers, who share their stories, tips, and advice for a business success. Idea Camp is an interactive, connecting event that helps individuals participate in open-minded discussions and free flow of ideas. (No Age Limit) 
  • Women’s Series
    The Women’s series is a networking event, with an opportunity to gain insights from successful women in business. Different speakers at each event share their professional journey and strategies used that led to their success. This event aims to empower and elevate other women. This event gives an opportunity to participate in discussions with goal-driven, motivated, like-minded women.  ( Event Hosted at the Gulf Coast State College)
  • Community Events
    Under this category events vary in their focus. Event such as Educational Seminar that focus on empowering business growth may be encountered. As an example, this event covers Accounting and Taxes, Investments, and more.

Panama City Career & Internship Fair. Employees from NW Florida are getting together to actively recruit attendees for full/part-time jobs and offer internship opportunities. 

Landing a job in an Educational Field fresh out of College may be a stressful thought, but it is something that can be done. In the next article, we will share the experience of attending an Idea Camp Event.
