STUBER is a comedy starring Kumail Nanjiani and Dave Bautista. Dave is mostly known for his career as a professional wrestler and for his Role as Drax in the Marvel Cinematic Universe which greatly boosted his movie career. Kumail is a stand-up comedian, podcast host, actor, and writer; Some of his acting credits include the big sick and silicon valley. The film tells the story of a meek Uber driver(Nanjiani) who picks a up a passenger (Bautista) who happens to be a cop on the trail of a murderer. The driver is then pulled into this adventure as he tries to keep himself together. This film was directed by Michael Dowse who is known for It’s All Gone Pete Tong (2004), What If (2013) and Goon (2011). Other credits include Cinematography by Bobby Shore (known for his work on The Invitation, Goon and Bang Bang Baby) and Editing by Jonathan Schwartz (Jonathan Schwartz is known for his work on The Spy Who Dumped Me, It’s Complicated and Righteous Kill )This is his first time working with these two actors on a film. The film development began by being  bought as a script from Tripper Clancy( known for Four Against the Bank) by 20th  century Fox. Jonathan Goldstein and John Daley were set to produce it. In Dec 2017 Buatista was cast to play the role off the officer while Nanjiani was cast in march of 2018 to play the driver. The director Michael Dowse was named as the director in the same month as Bautista came on.In April 2018, Iko Uwais joined the film.In May 2018 the film added Betty Gilpin, Natalie Morales, Mira Sorvino, Steve Howey, and Amin Joseph.Ramin Djawadi was was the original choice for making the score but it was later announced that Joseph Trapanese would take on this role. Principal production in Atlanta Georgia ended on May 3 2018, it was shot until July 2 2018. The film had its world premier on March 13 2019 at South by Southwest. The film has mixed reviews and currently sits at %7 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Here are some critic quotes “The team does not have the screenplay to match what the cast is giving to it.”- Monica Castillo,  “Depending on how you feel about action comedies of the ’80s and ’90s (I’m for ’em), STUBER might hit just the right nostalgia chord for you, though the jokes are freshened up for 2019.”-Meredith Borders. The film has a run-time of 105 minutes.
