“It’s the best of both worlds” says Julia Merrill, SGA President, “I get to have the college experience and still stay close to home.”

Born and raised in Panama City, Julia has a special place in her heart for Gulf Coast State College.  She began her freshman year by joining “Ripples of Change”, and by her sophomore year she was SGA Secretary.  Now as President, Julia gets to see the fruits of her labor.  “Fast Friends” is just one of her many ideas about to come to life.  “It’s like speed dating for friends.”

Fall is the busiest time of the year for the SGA as the holidays present a plethora of opportunities for student activities.  Every week gives students a variety of fund raisers, games, and get-togethers.

Next week’s events are soon upon us, so be sure to take some time to get involved!
